Sender rules

You can block individual senders, always let them through or have them filed straight away – with one click in the email or by instruction, such as “Daily Brief is a newsletter”.

Usually it's enough for me to sort by content and your interests. But you can give me fixed rules for individual senders. They apply to the account the email was sent to.

Block and allow

Open the email and expand Why is this mail here?. At the bottom you'll see the sender address and the buttons:

  • Always allow – every email from this sender always gets through, including new, unsolicited offers. If one was already sorted out, I bring it back, and I clear any open invitation proposals to them.
  • Block – I sort out their emails from now on. A block also overrides VIPs status, a Conversation pass and important categories. They then can't deliver anything to you through Consent+ either.
  • Remove rule – appears once a rule exists and removes the allow or the block again.

On a submitted offer, No more from this sender blocks the sender the same way (Submitted offers). And if you reply to someone who didn't come as a provider, I automatically let them through from then on. For providers, your reply only opens the conversation (Conversation pass).

More rules

  • Category per sender: when re-sorting, choose “Everything from …”. I then assign all of this sender's emails to the category, including future ones (Re-sorting and learning).
  • File straight away: if you keep filing a sender's emails without replying, I suggest in your front office that I do it for you. The list is under Settings → Senders filed straight away. Stop filing takes a sender off it again.

By instruction

You can also just tell me a rule (Giving instructions):

  • “Daily Brief is a newsletter” – assigns all of this sender's emails to a category.
  • “Always file emails from X”
  • “Always let X through” or “never sort out X again” – I also bring back up to 20 emails of theirs that were already sorted out.
  • “X is cold outreach” – classifies them as cold outreach. I then check their emails like offers.
  • “Always sort out X” – blocks them.

I look for the sender in your emails, so they must have written to you before. If several addresses match, I ask which one you mean.

If something's wrong

A sender no longer gets through: check under Why is this mail here? in one of their emails whether they're blocked, and choose Remove rule. They're being filed although they're not blocked: check Senders filed straight away.
