Connecting accounts

I work inside your mailbox – Gmail or Outlook (Microsoft 365). You can connect several accounts, switch between them and disconnect any of them at any time.

Connecting your mailbox

Without a connection I can’t sort anything. I work with Gmail (including Google Workspace) and Outlook (Microsoft 365, including Outlook.com). When signing in, choose “Continue with Google” or “Sign in with Microsoft”. Google or Microsoft then asks whether Consent+ may access the mailbox. After that I read myself in and put whatever is open into your front office.

You’ll also find the connect button later: as a notice at the top of the front office and in settings under Mailbox. If access expires or is revoked, you’ll see a notice at the top and Reconnect in settings. One click is enough.

In Outlook my folder markers are called “categories” instead of “labels” – everything else works the same.

Adding more accounts

You have several mailboxes, say private and business? Open the account menu at the top right and choose Add another account. Google or Microsoft shows you the account picker (Add another account or Add Microsoft account); the new account is signed in alongside in this session and permanently linked to yours.

With several accounts the account menu offers Show: all accounts together, or exactly one. That choice applies to the whole app: front office, inbox, meetings and tasks. In the “All accounts” view every item carries a small tag showing which mailbox it belongs to. More under Several accounts.

Open automatically at sign-in. In settings under Your linked accounts you tick which linked accounts should open along when you sign in. Untick mailboxes that others can access too (for example info@): signing in with them then doesn’t open your other accounts.

Removing or disconnecting an account

These are two different things:

Remove from the list. In the account menu (on the phone under More → Accounts) you take an account out of your account list. It’s signed out of this session and unlinked. The account itself keeps existing; you can sign in with it again any time.

Disconnect your mailbox. In settings under Mailbox, Disconnect Gmail … leads to a page that says exactly what happens: I remove all Consent+ labels in your mailbox, sorted-out emails go back to your inbox, Consent+ loses access including with the provider, and no more replies go out on your behalf. Your Consent+ account, your interests and the email texts I've stored stay; they're only deleted along with the account. Only Disconnect Gmail now triggers it.

If you want to leave Consent+ entirely, delete your account in settings; what happens to your data is explained under Your data.

Signing out works via Sign out; with several accounts the button reads Sign out of all accounts.

If something’s wrong

If adding shows “This account is already the active one”, you picked the same account at Google or Microsoft; choose the other one in the account picker. If an action reports “not connected”, access for that mailbox has expired: the notice takes you straight to reconnecting.
