Goals & products
Tell me what you offer and to whom. Then I can spot who in your network fits and, at the right moment, suggest an offer or a referral request – always as a draft; you do the sending.
In the Goals & products tab under Network you describe your own offers. Nothing is built in there: each account group creates its own products. Without a product I only suggest warming up and reviving – no offers and no referral requests.
Adding products
Under + Create product you enter:
- Name and Benefit in one sentence,
- target audience in words, buyer roles, industries and keywords – several separated by commas,
- proof – real ones only, such as a reference customer. These are the only ones I use in drafts.
- link and the active checkbox.
✦ Suggest from my emails reads your accounts, files and sent offers and suggests products. They appear as Suggestion – please review and stay inactive until you review and activate them.
Below, under What do you want to achieve right now?, you note goals – with a product and a date – and close them with achieved / end.
Fit
For each active product I check your contacts: role, company, industry and shared topics. I rate the best matches more closely, with a short reason. Next to the product you see “… matching contacts”; the link opens the contact list with the “Fits …” tag. Contact cards say “Fits …” or “Perfect fit for …”. I recalculate after every change, otherwise about weekly.
Offers and referrals
I only suggest an offer when someone fits well and there's an occasion: a new role, company news about funding or growth, a move from a client to a new company – or you're in touch right now and it fits exactly. At most once every 90 days per person.
I suggest asking for a referral after someone has praised your work in the last two weeks. If I know a matching target person from shared emails, I suggest asking for an intro and attach a short text they can forward.
Channel and the law
Under German competition law (UWG), which Consent+ follows, advertising by email needs prior explicit consent – between companies too. That's why every offer carries a note that an offer without consent is legally riskier than a conversation. I only create a draft; whether to send is your call. If I know a phone number, I suggest Call: in B2B, a call is usually the cleaner choice. With a LinkedIn profile on the card, Write on LinkedIn lets you paste the text there yourself.
Exception: you may offer similar products by email to your own customers if you got the address in connection with a sale, they haven't objected, and every email reminds them they can object (§ 7(3) UWG). Calling a business needs at least a presumed interest. If in doubt, ask your lawyer.
Never for this person permanently excludes someone from network suggestions. The contact card then shows no network suggestions.
If something's wrong
Wrong fit: sharpen roles, industries and keywords, or set the product to inactive. For individual people: Never for this person.
