Mac app and phone

You can reach me in the browser, as an installed app and on the Mac in a dedicated app with a counter in the menu bar.

Mac app

The Mac app is a dedicated window for Consent+ with a few things a browser can’t do. You’ll find it in settings under Consent+ as an app as soon as a version is available to download; it runs on macOS 13 or later.

  • Menu bar and Dock show how many items are waiting for you in the front office. The menu takes you straight to Consent+, contacts, network and invoices.
  • Notifications about new items let you know when I put something new in front of you. You can switch them off in the menu.
  • ⌃⌥Space opens the field for an instruction to me from anywhere (Giving instructions).
  • Open at login is a toggle in the menu. The app fetches updates itself.
  • Signing in happens in a system window at Google or Microsoft; afterwards the session jumps back into the app.

Two things only work with the Mac app because they run locally on your computer: syncing with your Apple address book (LinkedIn and Apple Contacts) and Bank reconciliation with MoneyMoney via MoneyMoney. The app reads locally and only sends what’s needed for the match.

Installing as an app

Even without the Mac app you can use Consent+ like an app: its own window, its own icon, notifications.

  • Chrome and Edge (Mac, Windows, Android): Install as app appears in the account menu at the top right and in settings as soon as the browser offers installation.
  • Safari on Mac: “File” menu → “Add to Dock”.
  • iPhone and iPad: in Safari, “Share” → “Add to Home Screen”.

If Consent+ is already installed, I hide the button.

Phone

On small screens a tab bar at the bottom replaces the navigation: Front office · Inbox · ✦ · Done · More.

  • The ✦ in the middle opens the field for instructions and search as its own sheet.
  • Under More you’ll find mailbox views (offers, sent, drafts), files, everything around your chief of staff (contacts, network, invoices, routines, meetings, connections), settings, your accounts and sign-out.
  • In the front office you swipe entries: right files, left moves to tomorrow morning (Setting aside). After handling one you return to the list instead of being pushed into the next item.
  • Quick actions on hover only exist with a mouse or trackpad (Quick actions).

Notifications on your phone are set up under Notifications.

If something’s wrong

If Install as app is missing, your browser isn’t offering installation right now; use the browser menu instead. If the Mac app shows no number in the menu bar, you’re probably not signed in inside the app window.
