Let me know when someone writes

Tell me whose email you're waiting for. As soon as it arrives in one of your mailboxes, I send you a notification – and the email stays in your inbox.

If you're waiting for a particular email, such as Anna's reply or an invoice, you don't have to keep checking. Give me an instruction (Giving instructions), and I'll keep an eye out.

How it works

For example, write:

  • “Let me know when Anna writes”
  • “Notify me when an email from LinkedIn arrives at th@…”
  • “Ping me when the invoice from Example Ltd arrives – only if it's about the invoice”

You can name the sender as a name, company, address or domain. I confirm what I'm waiting for and until when.

  • Which mailboxes: I watch all mailboxes in your account group. If you name one (“at th@…”), I check there first. If the email arrives at another of your mailboxes, I still let you know. The mailbox you name must be one of your connected accounts.
  • Keywords: only if you explicitly narrow it down (“only if it's about …”) does a keyword also have to appear in the subject or text.
  • How long: until the date you name, otherwise 60 days.
  • How often: once. After the first match the watch is done.

When the email arrives

You get a 📬 notification with the sender and subject. Tapping it opens the email. Notifications need to be switched on for your device (Notifications).

I don't sort the email out or file it automatically, even if it would otherwise look like an ad.

If something's wrong

I didn't understand the sender: I'll ask who the email should come from. Give me a name, company or address. You're no longer waiting: choose Stop watching in the confirmation of your instruction. No notification came: check that Notifications are switched on.
